Ready-Set-Go
202013-2014 School Year

Children who qualify for kindergarten but may need an additional year in a preschool setting are welcome to register for Ready-Set-Go! The full day class focuses on the listening and pre-academic skills needed to succeed in kindergarten.

The class is open to students who are five years old on or before August 1, 2013, for most school districts in Licking County.

Students enrolled in Ready-Set-Go! Continue to receive the same highly-individualized education by certified early childhood education teachers as the children enrolled in our preschool programs.

Ready-Set-Go! classes meet from 8:45 AM until 3:15 PM Mondays through Thursdays at Flying Colors – Main Campus, 119 Union Street, Newark. Ready-Set-Go! costs $350.00 per month per child. Transportation may be available. Unlike the Preschool program, fees are not offered on a sliding scale for this program.

Parents and visitors are always welcome to visit the schools and observe the overall program and watch the children’s learning process. To register for  Ready-Set-Go! or to request an appointment to visit the school, please call 740.349.1629.

By the end of Ready-Set-Go! your child will be able to:

• Write their own first name
• Count in Spanish, basic greetings, food items, names from different cultures
• Count pennies and nickels to ten cents
• Identify common shapes
• Measure different lengths, weights and volumes
• Compare and contrast different versions of the same story
• Demonstrate relationships between letters and sounds.
• Dictate or approximate the writing of stories, personal or class experiences
• Demonstrate self-discipline in the classroom such as remaining quiet while others speak and focusing attention on the speaker.
• Create art using a variety of materials, tools and subjects and talk about that process.
• Identify similarities or differences in stories or music of at least two other cultures.
